When choosing an area rug, measure your living room area in front of the sofas and chairs. You can then look for rugs that will fit in any of these ways:

1. With all the sofa legs on the rug
2. Front legs of the furniture on the rug
3. All legs of the furniture off the rug

QUESTION:

How to decide the size?

ANSWER:

Normally the rug is placed just tucked under the legs of the longest sofa/seating in the living room.

The long side of the rug should correspond to the longest seating. The rug should be at least as long as the longest seating, and ideally 1-1.5 feet longer than the outside legs.

Typically you would consider rugs from 4x6 to 5x8 feet. And in the case of a slightly larger setting, even an 8 x 10 feet.

QUESTION:

I need a rug for my room and we have all wooden stuff. Like the ed, dressing table, etc

ANSWER:

With wooden stuff, it's nice to have these three options:
- Natural beiges are an obvious go-to. Opt for colors that have an earthy undertone (Ochre, rust, brick, and olive greens.)
- Second is smart black and white that will give an immediate modern fix to the home.
-And finally, try pastel colors. Those would also give a freshness and complement the robust wood.

QUESTION:

What's the best rug for the kids room?

ANSWER:

A rug size that allows them to sprawl and play on it! Go for a 3 x 5 FT if you have the space.

In terms of design, choose a smart pattern like stripes or geometrics. Kids have fun by spreading out their things, and you don't want the room to look busy when they are doing that. And for fun, choose a narrative print with a story on them.

Here are two ways to go about picking a rug for your beside your bed:
- Runner rugs beside the bed are typically 2.5 x 4.5 FT. Use the same size at the foot of the bed, if it's a smaller room.
