The Mombaye City Collection — Bold Crockery for the Contemporary Indian Table

Mombaye City is Freedom Tree's most distinctly Indian collection — a graphic celebration of the city by the sea, filtered through the brand's design sensibility. A design that is over 30 years old, it features bold geometrics, Mumbai-inspired motifs and a palette that references the graphic smartness of the maximum city. This is crockery for the table that makes a statement.

What the Collection Covers

The Mombaye City crockery range is a complete table set. Dinner plates, side plates and serving platters form the foundation. Ceramic bowls — katoris, soup bowls and serving bowls — coordinate across the same pattern family. Mugs and tea sets extend the collection to the breakfast table.

Handcrafted in India

Every piece in the Mombaye City collection is hand-painted by Indian artisans — a process that gives each piece the subtle variation of genuine craft. Glazes are food-safe, microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe. The collection is designed for daily use, not just special occasions — the bold patterns earn their place on the table every day.

Mixing and Collecting

While Mombaye City is designed as a cohesive set, individual pieces can be mixed with other Freedom Tree collections for a more eclectic table. A Mombaye City serving platter pairs well with neutral dining accessories, for example — the bold pattern becoming an accent rather than the dominant statement.

Crockery as a Gift

The Mombaye City collection is a reliable gifting choice for anyone who appreciates bold, Indian-made design. A dinner set, a pair of mugs or a serving platter with matching table linens makes a considered housewarming or wedding gift. Our gift hampers can be built around pieces from this collection.
