It's a fabulous thing to give life to fabric, to make something move well, the harmony of color.

INTRODUCTION
Home Fabric and Furnishing bring a burst of fresh color and joy to your home. Caring for and protecting your textiles properly can extend the life of your look indefinitely. Read on for some tips to make this happen.
Our fabrics and prints are made from a gentle production processes. As such, it is important to care for the items properly, especially when cleaning to ensure the color and quality lasts for the natural life of the product.
Cotton fabrics may naturally fade over time. If treated properly, most textiles will last at least a year with regular use. Generally, avoid placing the fabric in direct sunlight for extended periods of time or subject it to extended wear and tear as this will accelerate the natural fading process.
Please follow cleaning and care instructions exactly as incorrect cleaning and washing can damage the fabric or color. If in doubt, please consult the care guide below, the product instructions on our website, or reach out to our team for help.
UPHOLSTERY
Discover dozens of printed, textured, and woven fabrics for your living room. Follow these top tips to learn more about the material choices and how to care for them.
We recommend that you primarily maintain our upholstery by occasionally cleaning with a vacuum cleaner to prevent dust settling.
The great majority of our upholstery is made from printed cotton or woven cottons. As with all printed and dyed fabrics, avoid excessive rubbing and exposure to direct sunlight as this can accelerate the natural fading process. In our sunny tropical climates, we always recommend sheer curtains for your living spaces in the bright afternoon to protect your furnishings.
Cotton is a natural material and is relatively easy to clean with water. However, be extremely careful when adding any detergents or soaps to the mix as household cleaning agents can often contain chemicals that can damage the gently printed natural pigments used in our process.
Should your upholstery require general cleaning and is removable, you can machine wash most fabrics with lukewarm water. If cotton upholstery is fixed, you may use a sponge with lukewarm water on the surface of the upholstery. Air dry sofa after this process (do not use hairdryer).

UPHOLSTERY CLEANING:
DOs and DONTs
DO NOT USE household laundry detergents, alcohol swabs, vinegar, spot removers or any cleaning agent to clean or remove stains at any point. Avoid shampooing, even by professional cleaners, as detergents can sometimes contain strong chemicals that strip color.
If you are considering using a cleaning agent or fabric protector (e.g. Scotchguard), always try it in in an inconspicuous corner of the sofa before using all over.
At Freedom Tree, we've also experimented with a range of cleaning solutions and partners, so please get in touch for recommended professional cleaners or detergents that will gently clean your upholstery.
Always pay attention to the material and specific care instructions for a given product. We have a few special fabrics not made from cotton or with delicate weaves that may require special care. Generally, we recommend steam-based dry cleaning for these types of fabrics - which is also generally safe on all upholstery.

CUSHIONS & THROWS
Our designer printed cushions are inspired by a seasonal story. Bring a bright pop of color and fun to your living areas.
Most of our cushions are made from printed or solid woven cotton. These fabrics are easy to care for and are machine washable in lukewarm water. Always remember to remove the cushion cover from the filler and wash separately. For the first wash, we also advise you hand wash separately. Air dry only.
As with all printed and dyed fabrics, avoid excessive rubbing and exposure to direct sunlight as this can accelerate the natural fading process. We also recommend you use caution when adding any detergents or soaps to the mix as household cleaning agents can often contain chemicals that can damage the gently printed natural pigments used in our process.
Some of our cushions and throws are made from special materials like silk or tweed, or involve special embellishments like pom-poms, frills, and patchwork. We generally recommend you dry clean most of these cushions, and in some cases hand-wash them. For more details, you can refer to the product care instructions on our website or read on below.

BEDLINEN
Snuggle in at night and make your bedroom shine in the day with our eye-catching printed bedlinen.
Almost all of our bed linens - bedcovers, pillows, quilts, and dohars - are made from printed or woven cotton. As cotton is a natural material, these fabrics are washable. Please gentle machine or handwash your cotton bedlinen. Air dry only.
Be careful when adding any detergents or soaps to the mix as household cleaning agents can often contain chemicals that can damage the gently printed natural pigments used in our process. You can test whether your detergent adversely impacts the fabric by trying it on a corner first.
A few of our bedlinens are made from other materials (e.g. velvets), or have other special instructions. Do check the specific product details on the website and contact us if you have any doubts. Steam dry-cleaning is generally safe for all bedlinens.
We recommend you roll or fold up your bedlinens when not in use and store them in a place where it will not gather dust. When placed on the bed, you can use an iron to remove any creases or folds for the perfect look!
PRINTED AND WOVEN RUGS
Stunning geometric, narrative, and botanical themed rugs that bring the space together with a statement.
Our printed and woven rugs are all made from cotton. Natural, breathable, and beautiful.
Our rugs are designed as indoor rugs. We recommend you place them indoors on a clean floor in an area without much dust. Avoid stepping on them with shoes. Do note that placing in direct light can accelerate the natural fading process.
To clean rugs, we recommend you regularly dust them off to avoid too much dust settling. All rugs can be gently hand washed on a flat surface (use a sponge or a brush on the surface). Do not soak. Air dry only.
Avoid the use of household detergents and soaps. The chemicals present and the rubbing motion of flat surface cleaning can cause premature fading. You can test out the effect of your detergent at home on a discreet corner of the rug to understand the potential impact.
