AOf Print and Pattern

TTana Bana. Warp and weft. The fabric of existence. It is inevitable that philosophies arose around the nature of creation by craftspeople. Kabir the 15th century weaver and mystic poet, often used the act of weaving as a time to meditate, transforming the mundane loom into a space for spiritual devotion.

We live in a country with centuries of cultural traditions centered around textiles, weaving, printing, dyeing. While working alongside multiple craftspeople, we are also inspired by contemporary designers blending traditions ofcraft and modern design.

This season, Freedom Tree’s collection of woven textiles is minimal yet meditative. A literal binary approach of using restrained colors in warp and weft, yielding surprising color effects on the front and reverse of the fabric. The fabric works as a double delight.

ARe-spun yarns, sustainable warp & weft

AFreedom Tree uses a restricted palette of re-spun yarn colors to gain these color coded effects. It becomes a “mathemagical” game to transform natural and material inspirations into a pixellated pattern. This time, the bets are on micro-weave patterns that arrestingly stand the test of time.

Ageless in design, the weaves serve sustainably three times over: The yarns are respun and recycled from waste strands. The fabrics are reversible. The colors & textures are enduring and mix and match with interiors over time.

The palette is in vegetal greens and heath florals of all sorts. Sun-kissed golden grass cooled by aqua water lines. Vivid terai-greens, toned greens, water tunnels. Mossy rock greens with streaks of purple from petals of flowers.

ARetro Graphics & Earth Core

AA stylish study of geometric shapes, the Freedom Tree archival print takes on a retro vibe in a new avatar: Ogee Landfall. Find a sense of rhythm and rhyme in the fluid blocks. It transforms a space instantly into a chic boho fantasy.

Inspired by the rock forms and striations underneath the earth, the collection features a muted story earthy Indian reds. A color that ties nicely with the warmth and wood of home interiors. You will love the fluid line work, which evokes the idea of the Earth’s core: constantly shifting like natural striations in the terrain.

ANarrative Patchwork

AThe narrative elements of our opus find their way through to our printed and textured cushions. They present a patchwork of stories, a pop of color, a hint of texture, almost like a small detail found amidst nature’s monumentality: intricate rock forms, a seam of bright flowers, and mossy patches along streams.

We champion rare and delicate flowers such as the Himalayan Blue Poppy - threatened by habitat destruction in India’s high-altitude meadows. On cushions, these floral motifs bloom bright against the greenery and rockery we photographed them against. Water and sky create shadows and ripples of light.

Textured tufting, embroidery, and ruffled finishes enhance the pastoral scenes of the land these prints re-create - landscapes of sown fields, the lone farmer tilling - pop with textural tone and depth.

A Promise to the Planet

Freedom Tree Spring-Summer 2026

The collection seeks to recreate the feeling of being awed by the vastness of the outdoors and knowing how small we are. The stillness, the layers unfolding with the sky reflected in the glacial waters. The monumentality of the sky as the eye stretches towards the horizon.
