Promise of the Planet — Spring Summer 2026, Part 1
In a culture where spectacular textile traditions have existed for aeons, Freedom Tree’s painterly-like prints for 2026, stand out as a musical interlude. A quiet lull.

Shop Promise to the Planet Collection
The idea for spring stems from an appreciation of the monumental beauty of nature. In the light of climate change and resource depletion, we hero the elements on earth that make life possible.
The collection seeks to recreate the feeling of being awed by the vastness of the outdoors and knowing how small we are. The stillness, the layers unfolding with the sky reflected in the glacial waters. The monumentality of the sky as the eye stretches towards the horizon.
On one hand, we lionise the physical attributes of Himalayan glaciers and mountain-scapes. And on the other hand the living ecosystems of forests and savannah landscapes. Geometric strata play a part, as abstracted 60's-influenced psychedelic forms. Larger than life graphic florals render endangered flowers on accents like cushions and table linens.
With this collection find the same prints in clothing - fluid shapes and naturally breezy fabrics.

AGlaciers and Valleys
AThis monumental print has Himalyan glacial pools and mountains as its inspiration. The vastness of the sky and the depth of the mountains twin in reflective silence. The restful nature of the print comes from the painterly mural scale of the fabric and mirrored scenes.
The painterly technique transforms a traditional fabric yardage into three-dimensional expression. The stylized representations of water and mountains in a mystical adventure bring new levels of meaning to age-old stories and traditions.
The color palette ranges in deep teals and watery greens, punctuated by floating mounds of moss and earth on striated rock forms.

AThe Grasslands
ALocated at the Himalyan foothills, the Terai Duar region harbours the world's tallest grasslands. These are the most threatened and rare worldwide.
Grassland and savanna flow across the fabric in a naive hand-painted aesthetic. Based on an artwork created in our studio, this expansive scenic print features the teeming life of Terai-Duar.
An enchanting, transporting design, the land is dotted with trees, water bodies and flights of wintering birds. The landscape turns on itself, shifting horizons in a patchwork view.

AEarth Core
AA story of Earth and Clay grounds the collection in tactility and craft. Ochres, terracottas, rusts, and clay pinks reflect soil and mineral landscapes.
Earth Core: a monumental print emerges with a careful balance of forms. They look abstract at first, but when you look closer, they’re composed of fractals of flowers and trees! You will also love the fluid line work, which evokes the idea of the Earth’s core: constantly shifting and changing, with natural striations in the subterranean. A textured background adds depth and impact.
The palette for Earth Core comes in a muted Indian Red, a color that ties nicely with the warmth and wood of home interiors. It is magnificent on sofas and monumental as landscaped curtains.

Meditative creation
Many of Freedom Tree’s favourite themes are drawn from the Landscapes of India. The changing nature of the geography, as we travel around the country.
Mountains, trees, rivers and the sea are recurring themes in our work; fighting for space with dream visions and landscapes of the mind. Often populated with expressive people and zoomorphic life forms.
The land is always an infinite source of inspiration. This topography merged with artistic traditions, experimental ideas and a global perspective allows for a continued originality, while maintaining a very Freedom Tree worldview.

TextuREAL Weaves and Details
Our Spring Summer Collection features textural details that reveal themselves in rich and intimate ways. Responsible Design weaves, made from recycled cotton yarns, are grounded in a surprise of reversible colors in the warp and weft.
A patchwork of embroidered details, ruffles, and textured illustrations on graphic cushions depict endangered flowers, productive landscapes, and unspoilt wilderness.
