Explore Sheer Fabric for Curtains Online

Sheer fabric is used primarily for curtains and window treatments — it allows natural light to filter into a room while providing privacy from outside. It is also used for canopies, room dividers and decorative soft furnishings. Sheer curtains are typically used in combination with heavier curtains or blinds.

Sheer curtains provide daytime privacy from outside — people cannot easily see into a room through sheer fabric in daylight. At night, when interior lighting is on, sheer curtains provide less privacy. For full evening privacy, sheer curtains should be used alongside heavier curtains or an opaque blind.

Sheer curtains are generally machine-washable on a delicate cycle at 30°C. Use a gentle detergent and avoid spin cycles that can tangle and distort the fabric. Hang to dry while still slightly damp — this removes most wrinkles without ironing. Check the specific product page for care instructions.

For sheer curtains, allow for 2.5–3 times the track width for a full, flowing effect — sheer fabric needs more volume than an opaque fabric to look generous rather than sparse. Add the drop plus 15–20cm for hems and headings.

Yes — hanging sheer fabric panels from a ceiling track or rod creates an effective, lightweight room divider that allows light to pass through while defining zones in an open-plan space. This is a popular technique in studio apartments and open-plan living areas.
