Freedom Tree is fifteen
Freedom Tree is celebrating 15 years as a design house. This year, we revisit our print archives, and inspired by past, we interpret new takes on our promise of ‘Good Design Everyday.’
2025 marks another year of relentless optimism expressed through bold print design and effortless styling. With a finger on the pulse of trend, we build new design worlds that express the zeitgeist of the times. Our summer home opus unfolds in waves, each expressing a facet of our design legacy.

Faces in Fragments
WFragmented illustrations, and graphic renderings of people and faces, an expression of our urban inspiration and narrative print design.
The closest to us are the people we know and interact with on a daily basis. Our trusted circle of faces - family, friends and coworkers. We want to have deeper connections with people - yet often find ourselves busy, living with shorter attention spans and a paucity of time. We seem to catch fragments of people in our daily interactions.
The hero print, ‘Face to Face’ print, crafts its own narrative,” say the designers. Humanizing those fragmented interactions, Larger than life illustrations of hands, lips, eyes playfully sit on the textile prints, mirrors and art objects.”
They are photographed experimentally making the collection larger than life. A touch of disconnect immersing us in the surrel mood. An off balance surprise that makes a mundane object exhilarating.
Pushing boundaries with the materials.
WOther designers take up the challenge. From the archives, our Faces print is revived. It pushes their artistic interpretation, especially as it is taken into other materials.
An eye becomes a fish, then becomes a mirror, then finally two eyes in clockwork synchronisation in a humorous photo edit. Lips become the lower frame of a large graphic Plump mirror. Pouting playfully in alternating stripes of blues.
A stack of face fragments, illustrations rendered by artisanal hands rise like modern totems. Kissed Face and Hand Eye Face are in sober natural colors of wood and a black and white chiaroscuro. Far away from the confident color often used by Freedom Tree in our objects.
The discipline of using this restrained color palette is a counterpoint to the way the Faces are interpreted in the textiles. Large forms, in uncomfortable raw color are softened by a friendly lavender and a living green that are friendly. Frills and edging and textural embroidery allow everyone to experience the playfulness and the curiosity impulses with which our designers have approached the small textile prints.

WOur summer home collection celebrates our design legacy with new fabrics, furnishings, tableware, and decoration. Bright colors and original prints, wrapped in story, invite you to bring a unique expression of yourself to your home this season.
Printed Furnishings >>
Our designers are particularly excited about the range of furnishings – cushions and throws that derive from the graphic prints, bold stripers, and artistic abstractions in this collection. Our cushions are narrative windows of storytelling that allow you to paint your home with color. We also love the possibilities for layering with luxurious textured tweed cushions, throws, and upholstery. It conjures associations of mossy meadows and the fields of a summer outdoors.
Ceramic Tableware >>
We thread a new Circle of Joyee with our Tutti Frutti breakfast and entertaining series. A Tutti Frooti mix of colors and forms, geometric shapes scattered within joyeefully colored ceramics, in perfect balance. A reminder of retro tiles in their mellow colors, the ceramic and woodware breakfast dishes are nostalgic, yet modern in their diversity. Curvaceous borders run in dots & dashes around the dinnerware. Paired with bright new table linens, these ceramics make a great gift for your home.

We’ve only just begun with graphic fragment of our ‘Face to Face’ series. We love how the concept has travelled to different surfaces including accent mirrors and decorative art objects. This is where our traditions of hand-working really shine as we hero each brushstroke by the artisan and their mastery of the material whether it be wood, ceramic, or textile.
