Our core of Color blocks and Stripes are even more playful, in our Summer 2025 collection. Being modernist and experimental, stripes and blocks allow for structure, yet can change direction or be layered.

Freedom Core: Of Stripes and Checks
Notches and stripes are the first marks an artisan makes or can weave. They could go unnoticed in the universe of lines. Yet at Freedom Tree, we imbue our not-so-simple stripes with considerable personality and an international sensibility.
Our designs are fashioned from disciplined brush strokes printed onto the textiles. In an earlier collection, Freedom Tree took inspiration from the red and white stripes outside southern temples. These lines sanctify sacred space. Lines can immediately mark abstract notions in a space. They end up being recurring elements in our inspirations for urban living.
Lines can be the abstract markers of a city. Kerbsides, pedestrian crossing, fenestrations on windows, reflections of tall building in the sea.
Directional lines, sustainble warp & weft.
WStripes and color adjacencies are like “palette practice” for Freedom Tree. Every intensity of color is arranged in a harmony or cacophony of hues. Moderated by intensity of the color or the width of stripe. For the designers it is most often restful, like playing a rhythmic digital game.
The actual woven fabric is produced with mathemagical precision. Yarn is chosen from the given palette. The warp is stretched. And line by line the shuttle weaves in the patterned stripe.
Championing sustainable yarns the Madras Checks and Stripes are a victory in achieving brilliant color effects using the up-cycled yarns. The design team works within the limitations of the very few colors in which these upcycled yarns are made available. Yet year on year, we make stunning color yardages, where woven checks with cunning color creations intersect in the warp and weft.

WFor our 15th year, our creative teams have pushed the envelope and experimented with space, atmosphere, and attitude when photographing these delicious and inviting textiles.
When the teams were building a concept for the shoot, they wanted it to be a celebration of lines. It had to be maximalist, harmonious and all about stripes! Hence a room full of stripes made perfect sense.
The colors of the set had to be harmonious with our upholstery, we wanted it to be bold but not take away attention, after a number of trials, we got down to two groups, the blue hues and pretty peaches.

Our designers are particularly excited about the range of furnishings – cushions and throws that derive from the graphic prints, bold stripers, and artistic abstractions in this collection. Our cushions are narrative windows of storytelling that allow you to paint your home with color. We also love the possibilities for layering with luxurious textured tweed cushions, throws, and upholstery. It conjures associations of mossy meadows and the fields of a summer outdoors.

We thread a new Circle of Joyee with our Tutti Frutti breakfast and entertaining series. A Tutti Frooti mix of colors and forms, geometric shapes scattered within joyeefully colored ceramics, in perfect balance. A reminder of retro tiles in their mellow colors, the ceramic and woodware breakfast dishes are nostalgic, yet modern in their diversity. Curvaceous borders run in dots & dashes around the dinnerware. Paired with bright new table linens, these ceramics make a great gift for your home.

We’ve only just begun with graphic fragment of our ‘Face to Face’ series. We love how the concept has travelled to different surfaces including accent mirrors and decorative art objects. This is where our traditions of hand-working really shine as we hero each brushstroke by the artisan and their mastery of the material whether it be wood, ceramic, or textile.
